More and More Stars booking a Plastic Surgeon these Days

Filed under: General news — reelifefilmfestival @ 7:26 pm

Good to be back home from sunny San Diego, time to get back to work over here you know. It is really interesting for me to note the plethera of stars and other high profile names (such as Sarah Palin allegedly) who are hiring a plastic surgeon these days and going under the knife. In San Diego and of course L.A. this is quite commonplace. It has bee noted in a number of medical, health, wellness and also scientific related journals that,
despite the fact that plastic surgery is not at all brand news, various different research studies have shown that there has been a sort of major tilt if you will in the past fifteen odd years or so in what is considered both feesible as well as desirable to alter or modify in the human body in general. it appears that this said “body-changing culture” is becoming quite popular indeed and it even includes changes to most parts of the human body, and in particular to the more intimate ones, which is why we see so much in the way of breast implants, tumescent liposuction and tummy tuck for example. Meanwhile, other procedures such as rhinoplasty and botox have also been growing steadily as of late. of course, it is quite clear that many of us if not all of us do want to show everyone the very best side of ourselves since you never really know when you may meet your future spouse, as an example. Nonetheless, when does looking your very best start to really mean looking like somebody else? If you are in San Diego or other parts of southern California and you need a san diego plastic surgeon I can suggest this practice. Then there are those who have had so much cosmetic surgery and ben under the surgeon knife so much that they are almost totally unrecognizable, such as French twin brothers and stars Igor and Grichka Bogdanoff. Another good example is Hollywood actor Mickey Rourke. In the 1980’s and early 90’s he was considered one of the major hunks in the movies as he starred in a number of leading roles in films like Wild Orchid, The Desperate Hours, Johny Handsome and Angel heart, to name a few. Then he quite acting for while to pursue his boxing career and when his face got battered he hired a plastic surgeon. As he says, it turned out to be the wrong cosmetic surgeon and now
his looks have been dramatically affected, although to be fair we do not know the full extent the boxing took to begin with in his particular unique case.
For instance, i just heard of a new plastic surgeon procedure that promises to give you dimples like that guy Mario (even to go so far as to name him),
you know the guy from dancing with the stars with the notable dimples.

San Francisco’s Sister City to Be In TV Episode

Filed under: Legal News — Tags: — reelifefilmfestival @ 10:04 pm

The network program “Trauma” which had a number of cases concerning accidents and personal injury and the like, was unfortunately terminated, yet an additional episode will still be aired, and it will be shot in San Francisco’s sister city of Oakland.Officer Jeff Thomason, a police spokesman, said that on both days on 21st Street traffic will be closed “so that the production can set a helicopter, SWAT team van, ambulance, and other law enforcement and emergency vehicles for the filming.” By the ay if you find yourself needing an experienced San Francisco personal injury attorney then let me humbly recommend Scott Righthand because he is a leading personal injury attorney for both Oakland as well as SF. Filming will go on inside a bank on Thursday, also. It will take place in a bank around the corner.
In San Francisco, where previous shows were filmed, officials said that the show was a $7 million “shot in the arm.” This is the first time major scenes for “Trauma” have been shot in Oakland. In one episode in San Francisco, a car demolished a Farmer’s Market on Justin Herman Plaza. The show created a tanker explosion and a car pileup on the King Street off-ramp to Interstate 280. A motorcycle and car crash was staged along the Embarcadero. Hope nobody needed an attorney on that one.
Other shows that have been filmed in Oakland, were “Nash Bridge,” a Clint Eastwood movie, and two Matrix sequels. The city is mourning the death of “Trauma.” They were just happy it lasted as long as it did.

Los Angeles’ Getty Art Museum Hosts Screening of “Project Runway”

Filed under: Film News — reelifefilmfestival @ 12:50 am

Just got back to the office from North Carolina to see a lawyer and thought I would share this with you: Los Angeles’ iconic Getty museum will be showing an espisode of “Project Runway” filmed at the museum.
They are truly the art source over there. It will be presented free of charge. What a piece of work. Reminds me of that artistic furniture. In the reality show’s episode featuring Getty’s Art Museum, fashion designers were challenged to create designs inspired by the character of the museum. L. A. Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa has a spot in the episode, which is hosted by Cindy Crawford and Heidi Klum, who act as judges for the contestant’s fashion designs.
Switching gears for a momment, if you require a leading
North Carolina Furniture provider then take a peak at this firm. For their part, they have been handling design and custom Furniture orders for some time now and are good. They also feature Lorts, leathercraft, designer lighting as well as Shabby Chic Furniture made in North Carolina.
A Getty Art Museum spokeswoman has said the museum hopes to boost the Getty’s local fan visitors to Facebook. The visitors jumped from 12,000 to 14,000 already, earlier this week. As an aside if you are looking for some art then please take a look at this particular resource.Following the screening, a panel discussion with art and fashion speakers will include an editor from Marie Claire magazine, and the former curator from the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles. All in all, it should be fun—at the very least—visually. Knight says that the film has been met by a “rapturous reception” since it screened in film festivals in New York and Toronto. It is a real piece of film artwork indeed. Now it is time to leave the office. All in all, Dallas also has a art and furniture source exhibit I believe.

Some Celebs Checking out Costa Rica

Filed under: General news — Tags: — reelifefilmfestival @ 10:35 pm

Golfito is south of the Osa Peninsula on Costa Rica’s Pacific coast. It is interesting in that it has its share of expat residents and yet they seem to manage to keep their secret paradise for the most part, well—a secret. Even a few celebrities sometimes hang out here apparently. Great for a surf trip or a yoga retreat.
Golfito is a colorful little town, just what you might picture for an old banana port in a lovely tropical setting if you have a vivid imagination. What used to be the port for the United Fruit Company’s banana operation is now a quaint little town with homes sitting stilts at the water’s edge. There are a few hotels and restaurants and shops. But it is the port’s duty-free warehouses that are one of main draws here. In order to take advantage of the shopping you must register the day before—this way the town will receive your patronage at the hotels and other businesses. Every resident and tourist can spend $500 per every six months at the duty-free warehouses. As an aside if you are looking for a wonderul costa rica surf vacation or tour this is a good firm. They have some of the best surf camp, school and vacation packages available anywhere.

Many North American expats live in areas just outside of Golfito. One of those is Playa Zancudo, a small town with a few restaurants and hotels. The locals like the black sand beach for its great swimming. Playa Zancudo can be accessed by water taxi from Golfito, by the way. It is also a popular family beach, loved for its gentle surf and beautiful water. From Costa Rica’s capital, San Jose, you can catch a bus to Quepos. The park is just a few miles south of the town and you can catch a bus to the park. There are also flight into Quepos.

Celebrities, Office Artwork, Numerology and related Musings

Filed under: General news — Tags: — reelifefilmfestival @ 12:24 am

I was looking at some office artwork the other day when I was at a church fundraiser and it occured to me that a lot of celebrities, especially actors, have been changing their names so as to change the vibration of their numerology. This reminded me of a conversation I had with a friend recently by email, which I will exerpt now, and you will see what this has to do with the office and artwork:
“Alright, since you keep begging me about it, here is some information about the number 7.
The number 7 vibrates to the planet Neptune. It represents spirituality, sensitivity and mystery. It is also the number of healing, faith, miracles and dreams that come true. On the potential negative side it can be associated with the polaity of delusion and/or deception. All in all, 7 is sometimes called the Lucky number 7 It is mentioned frequently in the Bible as a number of completion, as in Joseph’s intepretation of the Pharoah’s dreams. 7 people tend to have very remarkable dreams. Sometimes they discuss them and other times they keep them to themselves, but regardless they dream more than most people. Secretly, they have an interest in esoteric mysteries such as aliensa, ufo’s, mythology and similiar things of the unknown. They often have the gift of intuition and clairvoyance and often have a calming magnetism and influence over others. 7 people like to choose their own road, and not choose the same path as all other people. 7 people are interested in traveling and are attracted to the sea and watersports. One possible negative is that sometimes 7 people can be worried or anxious about the future, and analyze it too much. This came through when we were at the Church Fundraising event although I suppose most church fundraisers and fundraising type of events tend to bring out the best in most people. 7 people often earn a lot of money and often give much money to charity. 7 people do not like an invasion of their privacy. Refined manners, an artistic temperment and also a sensitive, sympathetic nature make up the 7 vibration, and a 7 person person’s inner
mnd is usually a vast neptunian world. This may explain your rather unique taste in office artwork. 7 people are usually not judgemental of other people. In addition to all of this, The challenge of the 7 person is to learn to listen to their “inner ear”.

More on the Roman Polanski Case

Filed under: Legal News — Tags: — reelifefilmfestival @ 8:35 pm

Recently I wrote an article regarding the arrest of Roam Polanski in Europe as he tried to cross into the Swiss border on his way to a film festival where he was scheduled to recieve a reward. Since that time, a lot has transpired, which appears to have exposed a sort of rift or fault line that was previously hidden or at least obscured.  To put it mildly, the Los Angeles community is rather lit up at this time since Hollywood has taken such an extreme stand in it’s backing of embattles film director Roman Polanski. Is this going to probate or what? I do not know. He already has one of the leading Washington lawyer but the power elite in question  of Los Angeles in general and Hollywood more specifically have really rallied behind him. Their appears to be a perception in the mainstream that these elites are essentially ignoring the crimes completely or downgrading them to the status of jaywalking while only focusing on Polanski’s speedy exoneration or release. Speaking of jay walking,  Los Angeles based Jay Leno and the other late night talk show hosts have really had a field day with this one, joking about this case virtually every single night. Leno seems to be one of the few Los Angeles celebrities who does not appear to sympathize with his dilemma, perhaps because he is more of a comic than an actor, I don’t know I am only speculating here on that.  Letterman is probably just relieved that the uproar that this story has caused is helping to keep his own scandal on page 2 of the Los Angeles Times. Meanwhile Conan O’Brien is milking it for all it is worth. Meanwhile Mrs. Smith of the Chicago Tribune has pointed out in her excellent Chicago Tribune article that the miscalibrated Hollywood/Los Angeles outpouring of grief and outrage over his incarceration (as if he was Ghandi or somebody like that) might have even had the boomerang effect of ensuring him United States prison time because, let’s face the fact, the American public and media backlash was more or less immediate and in sharp contrast to Hollywood’s views. If you need an excellent Los Angeles probate lawyer  please take a look at this resource, a top probate lawyer indeed.  As if this were not bad enouph, it even may have fueled many people’s stereotypes about “Hollywood types”, which sort of reminds me aof the 1999
film starring Alec Baldwin (sorry bu the name of the film escapes me) where Hollywood was making a movie in a small town and many folks wanted them out of there because they were a nuisance and a moral disaster, with Baldwin playing the star and a womanizing predator, etc. I think it was more of a parody
about Hollywood than  a documentary but it drove the point home nonetheless, if you know what I mean.

The Plight of Director Roman Polanski

Filed under: Film News — Tags: — reelifefilmfestival @ 10:10 pm

I just got back from Atlanta after seeing an injury attorney there and thought I would report on the latest movie news. In legal news out of Europe, specifically Switzerland, an attorney (actually multiple attorneys according to the reports) for acclaimed film director Roman Polanski have apparently filed for an an appeal (no shocker there) with a local court today in an attempt to fight his arrest on a United States initiated warrant regarding his rape of a 13-year-old girl in 1977. As it now stands, the Swiss Federal Penal Court stated that it would make a decision on the appeal within a short time period, perhaps even in a matter of weeks, according to the online reports from their own official site. Polanski, 76, was arrested over the weekend on a Untied States fugitive warrant in Zurich, while he was on his way to accept a film award. He is the director of a number of movies including ‘Rosemary’s Baby’ starring Mia Farrow, ‘Chinatown’ starring Jack Nicholson, ‘Frantic’ starring Harrison Ford, ‘The Ninth Gate’ starring Johnny Depp’ and more recently ‘The Pianist’ which was a world war 2 drama starring Oscar winner Adrian Brodie. All in all, he has his warrent for fleeing America on the night of his sentencing for the charge of raping a 13-year-old girl, to whom he also was accused of giving drugs and alcohol, and sodomizing, which of course can cause injury. Since he fled the country he has been able to continue his movie directing career in Europe, mainly in France, where he has been given a safe haven up to this point in time. As an aside if you are in Atlanta and find that you need a Atlanta injury attorney then may I suggest this particular resource, very good for both accident and various injury cases. This is really one of the best tax attorney that I know of.
In general, Europeans do not consider his crimes to be quite as serious as North Americans do, at least according to the reports I have read. This is painting with a broad brush, however, since this is only a very general assessment. Some of his supporters, such as actress Angelica Huston are biased in my opinion because they may have wanted to remain on his good side considering his status as a movie director. His attorney has so far refused to speculate on how long he might be behind bars.

A Look at celebrities on the big island, security issues and more

Filed under: General news — Tags: — reelifefilmfestival @ 7:48 pm

I just returned from the big island to take a look at some real estate over there on that beautiful island. Speaking of that, I noticed that many celebrities have real estate on the big island as well as Mauai and oahu too. With so many movie stars and other celebrities in general turning to armored cars or other armored vehicles today it is interesting to take a look at the history of these life savers which started out mainly as life takers when deployed by the military and equipped with machine guns and other weaponry. I mean, these days when people think of bulletproof cars they tend to think of Armored Mercedes, Armored Lexus, Armored Toyota and other related types of Custom armored vehicles like that. While Armored Cars and other armored vehicles have been around for a relatively short time, just over a century (the first armored car was invented in the United States at the end of he nineteenth century, they have played a major role in most major conflicts since that time. The armored car was first used in actual combat by Italy during the italo Turkish war of 1911-12 and this weapon system helped the Italians rout the Ottoman Turkish forces during that conflict in which most of the battles occured in Libya. As an aside if you do require a leading big island real estate firm or agency then I do suggest Sotheby’s. They have handling the real estate needs of the big island for a very long time indeed. Now back to the primary story: Then just 2 years later the tank was first used by the British Army during the first world war. At first the Germans were terrified of the clanking metal monsters but the shock soon faded as they discovered that their field artillery was relatively effective against them. The tank did not truly come into it’s own, however, until the second world war which began on September 1, 1939 when the German army launched a successful invasion of Poland. Their attack was
spearheaded by sizeable numbers of tanks as part of the Blitzkrieg (lightning war) strategy formulated by Hanz Guderian, in which highly mobile and armored units attack using massed tanks closely supported by dive bombers and other ground attack aircraft. This was a bog change from their deployment in the first world war when they were spread out over a wide front which was not nearly as effective. A key component of the blitzkrieg concept was that of self sufficient armored divisions which had not only tanks but other armored and tracked vehicles in direct support such as armored scout cars, self propelled artillery and assault guns, mobile infantry usually in half-track vehicles, mobile anti-aircraft, anti-tank, engineere and a myriad of other related support mechanized forces. After Polands quick surrender the blizkrieg rolled over numerous other countries including France.

Strange Denver based Reality TV Show

Filed under: General Entertainment — reelifefilmfestival @ 10:08 pm

I jusr returned from Oahu (to do an inspection on some real estate over there you know) and back to writing in here. Have you ever seen of those bizarre reality shows on VH1, Bravo or whatever, such as specific one where they go in and completely rebuild some down-on-their-luck family’s home? Of course that network is also the home of shows like the ‘millionare matchmaker’. ‘housewives’ and so on as well. I have often thought about what a horrible situation this must be for their neighbors, with construction going on constantly right next door. That is when you know it is time to get a hotel room or something. How are you going to get any sleep? Well, now there a wonderful Colorado reality show simply called, “Disaster House”. All in all, the core idea of this show is to basically contrive some kind of disaster to the house in question, and then essentially show you how to repair it. Well, I guess at least it is recreational for the most part. However, for the unfortunate community in which a specific episode is filmed, a house may suffer a fire or a flood, for instance. By the way if looking for Oahu Real estate or for that matter a consulation on the phone this site may be of some assistance. They handle almost any type of real estate in and around Oahu, for their part. You can make reservations. Alright now back to the conclusion of the story: The cable television production firm called, “High Noon”, might employ a flame thrower, smoke bombs, or, as they did in one episode, bring in an elephant to create a toilet clog!

A story in the Denver Post quoted one poor victim—er—ah—neighbor as saying that the show completely destroyed her privacy and her peace and quiet for the summer by blocking the street with trucks and cranes, creating horrible odors, foul-smelling smoke…and on and on.

Other neighbors say they have lost all privacy and wonder what the point is of some of the means employed by the production company. One homeowner wondered at using a flamethrower, or smoke bombs, or wild animals. She said some trees had been scorched by the flamethrower and wondered if that was meant to simulate what would happen if a dragon breathed on trees.

The show may be around for a while, though. It is really popular, even if it is truly a disaster for anyone unlucky enough to be next door to a house being flooded by five feet of water, scorched by a flamethrower, or made into a powder room for elephants.
