Hawaii and Kauai remains Major Center for Film Production (part 2)

Filed under: Film News — reelifefilmfestival @ 6:46 pm

Of the major classics to be identified with the island of Kauai, one of the most prominent was the 1964 production ‘South Pacific’ which coined the phrase ‘Bali Hai’ often used in the real estate scene when naming condominiums and so on. It was filmed partially at the scenic Lumahai beach (Mitzi Gaynor singing there) as well as the slippery slide falls in Kilauea town. It is perhaps the island’s “signature film’ along with the 60’s production ‘Blue Hawaii’ starring Elvis Presley, which was filmed partially at the lovely Hanalei Bay resort area on the north shore of Kauai and near the Wailua river over on the Eastern shore. There is some nice Kauai real estate in that area of the island. The monster flick’King Kong’ (both the 1933 classic as well as the 1985 version starring Jeff Bridges) was also filmed here, not surprisingly considering the perfect scenery. You may also remember the 1992 romantic comedy ‘Honeymoon in Vegas’ starring Nick Cage, Sarah Jessica Parker and James Caan. That one was filmed mainly
in Kapaa town and Hanalei. Other movies which have been filmed on Kauai include the dark comedy ‘Throw Momma from the Train’ starring Danny Devito,
the kids and parents comedy ‘North’ starring Bruce Willis and Dan Ackroyd, the 2002 adventure release ‘Captain Nemo’, the Branden Fraser starred live action cartoon ‘George of the Jungle’ filmed near Anahola, the world War 2 drama ‘Dragonfly’ starring Kevin Costner and the 2003 action flick ‘Tears of the Sun’ starring Bruce Willis.
Other notable films include the Peter Pan inspired 1992 pirates adventure tale ‘Hook’ starring Robin Williams, Dustin Hoffman and Julia Roberts,
the 1998 romance film ‘Six Days and seven Nights’ starring Harrison Ford and Anne Heche, the adventure film ‘Planet of the Apes starring Charlton Heston as well as the 1995 thriller ‘Outbreak’
which starred Dustin Hoffman, Morgan Freeman and Donald Sutherland, among others in an ensemble cast.
Many of the biggest stars of the last century have made films here such as John Wayne, Frank Sinatra, Jack Lemmon, Howard Keel, Dorothy Lamour, Robert Stack, James Garner, Kathleen Turner, Billy Crystal and Jessica Lange
hile mostly known for it’s movies, Kauai has also been the setting for a number of television programs like “Gilligan’s Island plus “Baywatch Hawaii.”

Hawaii remains Major Center of Film Production (Part 1)

Filed under: Film News — reelifefilmfestival @ 7:21 am

Hawaii in general, and the beautiful garden island of Kauai in particular, are favorite destinations for Hollywood film crews. Perhaps it is because it is home to some of the nicest real estate, or perhaps the nicest people, that draws tinseltown there. Or perhaps it is just because the industry’s director’s, actors and other production crew simply want to spend time there while they
are working. There are certainly less relaxed places to work.
Films as diverse as ‘Waterworld’ starring Kevin Costner and ‘Pearl Harbor’ starring Ben Affleck have been filmed in the state. The 2002 James Bond flick ‘Die Another Day’ was partially filmed in the state and local surf legend Laird Hamilton On the little island of Kauai alone, some fifty major productions have been filmed on the island in the last fifty-odd years.
Pretty impressive resume. That list of films consists of everything from westerns to a Vietnam war movie. It’s history
of movies is so rich, in fact that there is even a thriving ‘Hollywood Film’ tour business on the island and some real estate agents have been
known to espouse the fact that a particular property overlooks the location of a particular movie location. By the way if you are in the state and need to rent a Nissan vehicle, allow me to suggest
the Hawaii Nissan dealership at King Windward Nissan. it is quite possibly the best, or at least one of the best such Nissan dealerships in the state.
Among the movies which have been filmed on Kauai including the Steven Spielberg 1981 classic ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark’ (filmed partially near the Anahola Mountains as well as the swing bridge of kapana)
and another of his mega-blockbusters ‘Jurassic Park’ (as well as both Jurassic Park sequels). The later was filmed in 1992 and Hurrican Iniki struck the island just as production was finishing up.

Kiefer Sutherland’s Attorney defends His Client

Filed under: celebrity headlines — reelifefilmfestival @ 10:13 pm

In celebrity legal and criminal related news, Kiefer Sutherland’s defense Attorney, Michael C. Miller, has recently said that the 24 year old television star is not really to blame for (supposedly) head-butting fashion designer Jack McCollough on May fourth at an after-party, according to a number of publishes media reports, including the Associated press online news network.
The attorney for the Canadian born but Los Angeles based star said: “the investigation being conducted by the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office and the NYPD will confirm that Kiefer…(is exonerated)” The son of noted actor Donald Sutherland, Kiefer has also appeared in a number of feature films such as
‘A Few Good Men’as well as ‘Young Guns’. However, he is possibly best known for his starring role on the hit television show ‘24′ For trivia fans, he is apart of the famous (and sometimes infamous) ‘brat packer’ group of holloywood stars like Sean Penn, Robert Downey Jr., Rob Lowe, Demi Moore, Charlie Sheen and Emelio Estevez.
By the way if you are yourself in need a great Los Angeles criminal defense attorney then may I strongly suggest the Law Offices of Ramiro J. Lluis as he is basically one of the top Los Angeles criminal defense attorney that you will find in southern California.
All in all, this is certainly not the star’s first run-in with the law but he is usually more associated with the Los Angeles criminal courts rather than New York City.

Hollywood elite design Jewelry for a worthy cause

Filed under: Hollywood news — reelifefilmfestival @ 8:36 am

The celbs have decided to bust out the bling bling jewelry on the world! Film star Angelina Jolie, Anne Hathaway as well as singer
Victoria Beckham have joined together their considerable starpower to design various types of jewelry for a celebrity auction. This particular auction will benefit various worthy charities from actors, pop singers, as well as hip hop starts.
Other big names to design jewelry include ‘Titanic Star’ Kate Winslet, singer/film star Jennifer Lopez, leading lady Penelope Cruz plus Ricky Gervais who have their hands in designing the jewelry. In addition to this, some have added their autographs so as to add value
to the merchandise. Not exactly what you would call bling bling jewelry I reckon, but then again bling bling jewelry is not everybody’s thing i suppose.
All things being equal, this jewelry will be showcased over at Bonhams in the British capital of London.
This event is being organized by ‘Stars for a Cause,’ where around half of the profits go straight to worthy causes, reports The Telegraph. The other half will go to the Prince’s Trust, which helps young people develop confidence, motivation and skills to find work.
Additional jewelry items include various unique designs from actress Charlize Theron, Goldie Hawn plus Miley Cyrus, while Ben Kingsley has designed a pair of cuff-links.
In addition to this, other celebrities who have designed jewelry for charity include Brooke Shields (The Blue lagoon), Christina Applegate of married with Children fame, Whoopi Goldberg (sister Act) for Ronald McDonald House
film actress Marcia Gay Harden for the Waterkeeper Alliance and Samantha Harris for Jewelers For Children.

Choosing the best office Chairs

Filed under: Off Topic — reelifefilmfestival @ 2:51 am

I just returned from the great state of North Carolina by auto, great times. When choosing an office chair, whether it be for a home office or big corporate office space, I think it is very important to choose one with a very strong ergonomic profile as well as with various intuitive controls to take into account height factors plus tilt and seat depth. Designer and custom furniture is quite important also.
In addition, based on my personal experience of some fifteen years on the subject as an accident lawyer, I do believe it is very important that the chair have a superb mesh fabric. if you are going to spend a lot of time in your office, then you should be sure that the chair is easy on the neck and back. Some chairs are more orthopedically engineered than others. Personally, if I had to rate strictly by appearance, I particularly like the look of European design office chairs (particularly the styles from Italy and France), Now, if you need good quality North Carolina Furniture source then let me suggest this fine resource, they go direct and have Lorts, outdoor dining furniture, designer lighting and also leathercraft. then I can most definately recommend this firm, as they are indeed first flank as far as a car and auto accident lawyer are concerned.
yet I have noticed that sometimes they are not necessarily the most orthopedically sound if you are a few pounds heavier and will be spending an inordinate amount of time in the office.
Generally, those countries offer very unique plus stylish executive models of office furniture. Like a lavish Mercedes Benz or Ferrari, however, they are not always the most practical choice in every
individuals case, although for some people they are just perfect. Each one has it’s own unique advantages.
One of the very best all-around chairs in my opinion is the prestigious Aeron, which was designed by Herman Miller about ten years ago following plenty of ergonomic research.
The result of all that thorough research and developent is that the chair naturally adapts to adjust to people’s unique shapes as well as posture postures. it also looks cool,
thus giving it a nice balance of aesthetics and comfort for heavy-duty, long term use. Another one that I happen to like is the ‘Mira’, which was also designed by the incomparable Herman Miller. Whether you are in Missouro or Paris, it is all good mate.

New dui Law Will Keep Drivers On The Road

Filed under: Uncategorized — reelifefilmfestival @ 8:03 pm

At a Seattle conference the Department of licensing and the State Patrol presented details for the new laws that will were to go into effect on January 1, 2009. This is the ignition-interlock law, state Representative Roger Goodman a democrat sponsored the bill in the Legislature.

This new ignition interlock law will help drivers who have been stopped for dui to keep their license or only loose it for a short time and in effect help to reduce the number of unlicensed drivers on the Seattle roadways. These motorists will need to apply for a special drivers license that will give them full driving privileges if they have an ignition interlock device installed in the vehicle to keep them from driving if they have been drinking. They will also be required to have special license plates on their vehicle. By the way should you require a great Seattle dui attorney may I suggest the firm of Blair & Kim, they are among the best Seattle dui attorney out there.

The new drivers license will cost the motorist $100 dollars, from these fees, $20 dollars will be put into a fund for drivers who can not afford the fees and there will be a $75 dollar monthly fee for the company of the ignition interlock devices. The driver will also need to have proof of auto insurance.

The length of time the driver will need to have the ignition interlock device on their vehicle will depend on how many times they have been arrested for driving under the influence. A first time dui offender will vary and can be as long as a year, the driver who has been charged with dui three or more times will comply to having the ignition interlock device on their vehicle 10 years. Seattle is very progressive in this respect. Lindsey Lohan could use this device.

Vehicle Accident Claims Life Of Kauai Man

Filed under: General news — reelifefilmfestival @ 7:06 pm

In tragic news from the wonderful garden island of Kauai, in an early morning traffic accident a Lawai man identified as Max Agor (age eighteen) sustained deadly injuries. Lawai is located near the city of Poipu on Kauai’s southern coastline. The man was transported to Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead. In addition to having some of the nicest real estate around and being a major tourist destination, Kauai is also a major center for film production. One of the most recent productions to come to mind was the big hit ‘Tropic Thunder’ starring Robert Downey Jr., Ben Stiller, Nick Nolte and Tom Cruise, among others. By the way, Ben Stiller has a home on Kauai’s north shore. I am sure it is a nice piece of real estate too.

There are many other Hollywood movies which have been filmed on the island over the years.

In addition to the man in question, there was also an eighteen-year-old girl who was not immediately identified riding shotgun in Agor’s  truck which was ejected. Officials stated that she landed on boulders on the side of the highway when she was ejected. By the way if you are on the island and are interested in some Kauai real estate then may I suggest Sleeping Giant Realty. They are simply the best, in my opinion, when it comes to Kauai real estate service. Alright now back to the main story:

The injured female in question was also transported to Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital and was then medivaced to The Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu and is reported to be in relatively good condition, fortunately. That is a pretty good hospital if i may add.

All in all, the accident is under investigation and officials have stated after the pickup truck went out of control it flipped over several times on the Kaumualii Highway. Officials also stated that speed and alcohol could have contributed to the accident.

Stolen Accident Causes Accident—Chicago North Side Man Charged

Filed under: Off Topic — Tags: — reelifefilmfestival @ 9:24 pm

In Chicago accident and personal injury related news, according to reports a man suspected of stealing an ambulance caused the six car pileup and has been identified as Alberto Bustamante of the 1600 block in West Chase. The accident occurred at approximately 3:00 p.m. at the intersection of Chicago and Dempster, causing several injuries.
According to Commander Tom Guenther of the Evanston Police Department the ambulance was stolen from a Chicago nursing home and after striking a parked vehicle at Chicago and Washington it kept going at a high rate of speed and driving erratically.

The ambulance continued traveling north, when according to one witness Robert Skertich the ambulance ran a red light and struck three vehicles. According to Cmdr. Guenther two of the vehicles were totaled. There must have been some personal injury from those severe crashes.

After the crash Bustamante exited the vehicle running around and yelling God hates me, but did not check any of the other people involved in the crash according to witnesses and police.By the way if you live in Illinois and need a good Chicago personal injury attorney I suggest the Law offices of Parente & Norem. Thyey are simply among the leading Chicago personal injury attorney you will find there.

Bustanante put up a struggle when police attempted to arrest him and there was a mental evaluation conducted prior to him being charged with possession of a stolen medical transport vehicle, aggravated battery on a peace officer and aggravated DUI. According to the Evanston police all of the charges filed against Bustanante are felonies. To say this guy needs a good attorney is a bit of an understatement.
